Dr. Shamsher Prakash launches IIT Roorkee Foundation to benefit IIT-Roorkee India
Dr. Shamsher Prakash, Fellow ASCE and ICE, Professor Emeritus (MST) and Distinguished Alumnus (IIT-R), has launched a foundation in U.S. to solicit and collect donations in U.S. for the benefit of the Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee, and use the funds held for the benefit of Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee.
The foundation has been granted exempt status from federal income tax under Internal Revenue Code (IRC) Section 501 (c)(3). It would allow the donors to deduct contributions made to the foundation.

Dr Roopa Gir, Prominent Geo-scientist, PAN IIT Leader and Distinguished Alumni (IIT-R) has taken over as President, IIT Roorkee Foundation.
Dr Gir is a Managing Partner of a Houston based start-up company ARG Global Tech. She has worked for the past 30 years in the oil and gas sector, of which the past 28 years were with Schlumberger in various technical and senior management positions.
